Your requirement

Static and front-end hosting

Compare static-site hosts by commercial-use rules, build and bandwidth limits, and the point where a front end needs a real server runtime.

What a plan needs to be listed

Published or derived static-host records. Quote-only rows are excluded from price comparison.

A plan reaches the table below only if all of this is true of it:

  • It is a static hosting plan.
  • Its price is published, or derived from published figures, rather than available only on a quote.

14 plans meet all of it. 3 just miss and are listed below with what each one misses, so you can see what was left out and why.

Plans that just miss

These came close enough to be worth knowing about. Some meet the broad requirement above but miss a narrower one; the last column says which. Listing them shows that a missing plan was checked, not forgotten.

Provider Plan What it misses Price
Vercel Hobby Not a static hosting service $0.00
Render Standard Not a static hosting service $25.00
GitHub Pages Pages on GitHub Free Commercial sites not allowed $0.00

What actually decides this

Static hosting is the simplest kind of hosting to compare. Fourteen plans with a public price qualify because the deployed files do not need a resident CPU or RAM allocation. Several publish a zero monthly price. That zero means the plan is free within its terms. It does not mean unlimited bandwidth, builds, sites, requests, seats, or commercial use.

Start by proving that the output is actually static. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, and client-side API calls fit. Server rendering, authenticated server code, background jobs, private database access, and persistent application state do not. A framework name is not enough because the same framework can produce static files or require a runtime. Price the active runtime separately when it exists.

The policy caveat can disqualify the apparent winner. GitHub Pages is suitable for public, non-commercial documentation that fits its size, bandwidth, and build limits. GitHub says Pages is not for commercial SaaS or ecommerce. Its published site limit is 1 GB, with soft limits of 100 GB bandwidth per month and 10 builds per hour. Those are real eligibility rules, not footnotes after ranking.

For a commercial marketing site under 1 GB and 100 GB transfer, the Sevalla free-static record is a better dataset fit because it publishes those allowances without the GitHub commercial restriction. For a tiny hobby site, Cloudflare Pages, Firebase, DigitalOcean, Netlify, Render, or Sevalla may all remain candidates, but unknown overage and build terms should stay visible. Choose on commercial permission, deploy workflow, cache behavior, preview needs, and known limits. If the site needs server execution, stop comparing it to static rows.

How to check this yourself

Every price here is read from the provider's own page and carries the date we read it, most recently 16 Oct 2026. The requirements above list every check we applied, so you can disagree with a threshold rather than guess at it. How we calculate the bill, and download the data if you would rather run your own.
